Common Paint Protection Film Myths

Myth 1: A paint protection film NEEDS a ceramic coating to be glossy

Not at all! A ceramic coating added to your paint protection film package here at GE Auto Detailing can certainly INCREASE the gloss factor. However, our pro paint protection film products have a glossy, hydrophobic, nanoparticle-infused top coat that enhances your paint shine, detail, and depth, just as a ceramic coating does itself. Pairing with a ceramic coating is not a REQUIREMENT with a PPF.

Myth 2: Clear bra packages are short-lived paint protection efforts

The preparation process for installing a paint protection film package on your ride starts with us removing all contamination by way of exterior detailing and claying. Once any messes are eliminated, we inspect the paint surfaces for defects, stains, and discrepancies that need to be removed before protection packages are applied. If we notice major defects, we utilize our paint correction service to eliminate them.

Measuring Painted Surfaces

A paint protection film is known predominantly for bringing self-healing security to painted vehicle panels, so once those areas have been perfected with detailing and paint correction, we at GE Auto Detailing then measure their dimensions to guarantee a proper PPF fit.
